INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE:

Installation

An experienced mason should be used for mantel installation. Pieces are normally dry-set with plastic setting buttons allowing for consistent ¼" joints. Dependent upon your situation, the installer may pin, strap or use latex modified adhesives to adhere the pieces to the substrate. After all stones have been installed, mortar or grout is tucked into all open joints. Care must be used to assure that mortar does not dry on the mantel face. Sponge with clean water as grouting proceeds. If field cutting is necessary, cast limestone can be easily cut with a diamond blade. After installation is complete, the mantel can be cleaned with Sure Klean Vana Trol, manufactured by ProSoCo, Inc. at 1-800-255-4255.

Maintenance

Periodic cleaning of your mantel, if necessary, should be done with soap and water or StandOff rinseless cleaner by ProSoCo, Inc. and a natural bristle brush. Follow directions provided with cleaner. (Do not use wire brushes of any type.)

Sealers

All of our products are pre-sealed with Water Seal Natural Stone Treatment, manufactured by ProSoCo, Inc. This is a siloxane water repellent developed for limestone to provide deep penetration and long lasting protection without altering the natural appearance of the products.
